New West of TOKYO -After half century-

In Japan that entered the period of rapid economic growth after the war, the population of Tokyo which became the center of the economy explodedly increased. For this reason, a huge estate that has 300,000 people living in was planned, and the construction of "Tama New Town" in the western part of Tokyo began in the 1960s. At the time, the housing complex was a modern, dreamy dream of a longing for dream life. Today's aging is the biggest challenge. Here I think that the problems of modern Japan are condensed.
